Medal of Honor: European Assault
Review by CrazyMexicanMan
"Just another WWII game... I think not!"
MoH:EA is a big step toward the right direction. I think it is much better than Rising Sun and a little better than Frontline. All the little features in European Assault make the game a lot better. In the review I will explain.
Graphics:
The graphics on the game are smooth most of the time. It does well for so many things going on at once; people shooting, explosions going off, etc. The backgrounds aren't the most detailed but i don't notice it with so many other things going on. The gun graphics are smooth and have a look that its been worn in a bit. Kind of makes it a bit more realistic, but graphics aren't that big of a deal for me.

Gameplay:
-Singleplayer
The gameplay is superb in my opinion. The levels aren't linear anymore, you notice it right away. You can explore, and the more you do, you find bonus objectives that give you revives. Revives are like continues. You can choose your path and choose the order you execute your missions which I think is really cool. The enemy AI is really smart too. If i throw a grenade they will throw it back at me. But that's why they let you now "cook" a grenade, which is where you hold it for a few seconds so you can time it correctly. Your soldiers that you command are ok. They are not the smartest but they do kill quite a few people. They also have a new "adrenaline" feature that is cool, you get it by racking enough kills. Once you use it you are invisible for a bit and do 1 shot kills. The only complaint is that they're not too many levels, only 11, but each of them are really fun and have many people to kill.
-Multiplayer
Another thing I need to mention is the multiplayer. I just LOVE it. There may be no bots but I played with 3 of my best friends for hours. You can be axis or allies. Then you choose if you want to be a sniper, heavy weapons, rifleman, or infantry man. Then with each of those you can upgrade your weapon to a better one. I found this so fun. There are 15 maps with 8 or 9 game types. It's kind of disappointing that they don't have online or bots. But with 4 people that's all the people you need, trust me.

Controls:
The controls are pretty easy to pick up. Although you cannot choose your own custom set of buttons, they have 4 of them already for you. I chose "sharp shooter," where L1 is aim and R2 is grenade. I found that really easy to use. So when you go in aim mode, you can lean out of every side with your left analog stick. It does take some time getting used to so that may be my only complain.
9/10
Sound:
The sound in European Assault is the greatest ever. The music is perfect in every situation. The SFX are great, every gun has a unique sound. Your footsteps make different sounds on different materials; I don't see that in many games these days. They have a lot of good orchestral music, very dramatic. The voice acting is good. You can tell from someone yelling if they are in a valley or right next to you. It really immerses you into the game.
10/10
Overall:
Medal of Honor European Assault is definitely not just another WWII game. They do a good job in bringing war to real life. They have a lot of unique features that make the game better than others. I would recommend buying it because it is realistic, and really fun. But then when you're done with singleplayer, you can always play mulitplayer with 3 other buds.
