"Legos AND Star Wars? Freakin' sweet!"

When you think about it, Lego has created Lego versions of a LOT of things! The Star Wars series was one of them. And now, for PS2 and XBox owners, they can watch their favorites from Star Wars tear each other piece by piece. Introducing Lego Star Wars, a fresh and brand new addition to the Star Wars video game lineup. Swaying away from the traditional usage of actual characters, Eidos and Traveller's Tales have brought in the Lego world to spice things up a bit. Lego Star Wars is an exciting way to enjoy Episodes 1, 2, and 3: Revenge of the Sith. Now most people hearing that being able to play Episode 3 may think: "Dang it! Now the movie's ruined!" Actually, Episode 3 reveals very little of the whole storyline of the actual movie. Obviously, Star Wars junkies know Anakin become Vader! Duh! But it's enough to enjoy the story without giving the juicy details of the full movie. Anyways, on with the review!

Gameplay: 9
The games allows gamers to go through 17 scenes from Episode 1, 2, and 3, from pod-racing action on Tatooine to lightsaber duels with Count Dooku. Gamers get to see little cutscenes (which have no voiceovers, which kinda stinks, but makes it up with hilarous hijinx within cutscenes like Obi-Wan's lightsaber not working! Ha ha ha!) This game uses a simple one button attack, one button for special moves, a jump button, and an interesting character control button. And special moves varies from characters. For example, Jedi can use the force to alter Lego objects to create new paths and uncover Lego studs. Shooters like Captain Panaka and Chewbacca (yes, Chewie's here too!) can use grapple hooks to reach places other characters can't. High jumpers like Jar Jar Binks can reach places higher than a Jedi's double jump. Also, there are a number of droids you can toy around with like Droideka and it's awesome shield and rolling abilities. Astromech and Cyborg droids like R2-D2 and C3PO can open certain doors and Astromechs can stun enemies with their shockers. Overall, with over 40 characters, the game makes you want to go back with each character and experiece the places they typically wouldn't be. Plus, two-player action is available and two people can travel through levels together and bring down the Dark side!

Sound: 10
The music can be obvious to most people. Slightly altered versions of original music used from the movies are available for your listening pleasure.

Entertainment: 9
Come on now! It's Lego and Star Wars together in one package! What could possibly be better than that? This game brings the power of Lego and Star Wars in your hand. But it would've been better if the characters had a larger array of moves and special moves rather than one button attacks. But I've found that careful timing of button-pressing will allow your Jedi Knights or Sith Lords to execute more stronger combos!

Game Life: 8
This game is made for gamers of all ages, including your grandma! There's no lives so if you die, you come back to life no matter what! And most enemies take one - three hits to defeat besides bosses. You can fully complete the game in a couple of hours.

Overall: 10
Even with some of the missing features, this game is still worth playing! And games like these don't come around very often: a game that's new, fresh, fun, exciting and takes two already popular franchises and combine them into one unforgettable classic for all gamers, Lego freaks, and Star War junkies out there. So if you want a great game, look for Lego Star Wars! And may the force be with you and your Lego Jedi? Ha ha ha!
