Medal of Honor: European Assault
Review by sweatingcactus
"Extra Extra Read all about it MOHEA is original and I am gonna shout it!"
Controls: are slightly different than MOH Frontline. However I caught on within Five minutes. 9/10
Graphics: Weapons lose some of there finer detail found in Cod Finest Hour but make the weapons overall look shiny and smooth. Faces definetly don;t look as nice but they aren't horrible either, just not as good as Frontline. There is more dynamic lighting found in this game when you or your squad are near bright crap. I have also experinced minor technical problems ingame. 7/10
Story: The story here is like a mix of Finest Hour and Frontline with you an OSS agent traveling across Europe to help the British, The Soviets, and The Americans kick some german ass. 7/10
Gameplay: Well to start, running and gunning is strictly prohibited unless the game is on super easy mode. This makes the game much more realistic. Also you have a squad to control. Too bad the only controls are "go here" and "follow me". That does kind of suck but guess what? The squad members DIE!!! Now if I new that there would me no question about me purchasing the game. When You arent loving the fact the squadmates are mortal you will find very quickly that the game is soo non linear that you could almost compare it to the first Splinter Cell all the way to GTA in terms of linearity. Bounous objectives normally keep me just from running straight to the mission objective. Also new is to have a Schutzstaffel (SS for all of you non WWII history buffs) boss that takes about five headshots to kill from pointblank! This is rather unrealistic but is very fun and captures the power found in SS officers during WWII. Finally there is the adrenaline meter that lets you be invinceable and a one shot killer. 10/10
Sound: All of the people sound right and all of the guns sound correct. The battles seem like battles and the sound effects like bulets whizzing by almost scare you. 10/10
Final Score: this is a final score not an average score. 9/10
Rent/ Buy definetly rent due to its only 11 missions
I think you will agree that this game sets a new standard for WWII FPS.
I was just wondering, howcome there are never any WWII Third Person Shooters out there? Email me at Sweatingcactus@msn.com if you think you know.
