"An okay game with problems."

This is a good movie game with a great concept but...

Graphics(10/10)- The graphics are great! the textures are detailed and the animation is smooth. The environs have been given detail and everything looks real. It does this well despite the PS2's hardware capabilities.

Sound(5/10) - The voice acting is great and the sound effects are convincing but there is almost no music whatsoever.

Story(3/10) - Although the game is based on the movie (which had a great story btw) it fails to present it. The game doesn't show you're really advancing in the story, only by the environs. The movie clips are just flashing clips with voiceovers that are supposed to be cool.

Gameplay(5/10) - The concept of the game is great but there was something wrong in the formula. In combat you get to use items w/c aren't really that important. The roaming around stealthily shows heavy influence from Splinter Cell. Also this game has one of the shortest and uninteresting story progressions I've ever played. What I really liked was the "fear" concept but in the game, this element was far too linear. In fact, everything was far too linear. You could only do the cool special moves on preset objects/ areas. Also you cant really choose which groups of enemies you fight. The game's concept was very good but the end product was...

Replay(1/10) - On your first playthrough, this game is quite enjoyable, after that, blah. First of all after just ONE complete, you unlock everything. You could play the game again in the new batsuits but there are only three of them, all from the comics. I think they should have added some costumes from the other movies and maybe the other comic costumes that were really cool. Second, you can also play the batmobile levels but there are only TWO of them. Also, the only batmobiles you can play as are the BB batmobile and the same one only in camouflage paint. Again, I think they should have put in the other batmobiles. Basically the game wasn't worth replaying. The bonuses weren't worth it either.

Overall, Batman Begins had a very good idea for a base, and they even worked hard on it, having assistance from the movie staff. However like so many games, the end product came out very differently.
