Sonic Mega Collection Plus

"This is not an emulator, this is the real game!"

Sonic Team has done it again, this time it's for real! After GC's Mega Collection came out many asked why was this history collection given only to GameCubes fans? Sega answered by releasing an updated Mega Collection with many extras for PS2 and Xbox fans. Sonic old skool 2D games are here with a perfect emulation.

Graphics:
As you can see those are the same games that came out 10 years ago on Sega systems so the graphics didn't change at all. But hay, it's a good thing because there is no need to change them at all because they are great, clear, detailed, and fun to look at. Great 2D graphics that can even challenge new day 2D games! Even better than sonic advance series. You just feel that feeling that takes you back when games were really fun. Everything looks nice and clean as it used to be, perfect emulation!

Sound:
The strangest thing this collection has is that the sounds play exactly as they used to play on old Sega systems, sonic team didn't enhance any sounds and that just might be a good thing, why? Because it adds the feeling that you are playing the original games and not an emulative version. Sounds and music are great as the graphics. Every sound and music fit's the stage. Well done sonic team.

Gameplay:
The beset part is the gameplay, you get all sonic Mega Drive games here with many Game Gear games and a little more. Most of the games play like this; get from point a to point b and its fun I tell you. There are many enemies and deadly traps that you must watch out for as you run, they may not be that hard but still fun. Sonic games were always about speed and this is what you get in this collection. Three are other types of sonic games too like puzzles and pinball, I can't sure you that you will like them but they add more into this collection. The only thing that I found wrong in this game is the unlocking games system. You have to play some games many times to unlock others, it would have been better if you just complete a game and unlock the other but with so many good things in this game I almost forgave this mistake.

Overall:
This game got almost all Sonic 2D games, need I say more? Just encase you don't know why this collection is a big thing: Sonic games were always the beset when it comes to platform games. A collection that no Sega/Sonic fan should be without. If you already had all of the games on there original systems or have GameCube's version than you should probably rent it out.
