Area 51

"Midway seems to be giving Halo a run for it's money...and its a good thing!!"

When I first pulled Area 51 outta the box and and popped the disc into my PS2 I thought " I hope this isn't another Halo copycat (cough cough Killzone) But when I saw the opening cutscene all my doubts were shattered. The graphics to the cutscenes have a movie -like look to them. The graphics are some of the best you're gonna find on the PS2. In this review I'll cover everything from the A.I. to the controls. So here's the review!!

Story 8 out of 10: You play as Ethan Cole, a mercenary trained in handling Hazardous Materials hence the name HazMat. Ethan Cole is voiced by David Duchovny from the X-Files. By the way he does a great job along with the other people in the cast. Ethan Cole and his other three comrades are sent into Area 51 to stop and contain an alien virus. But once you enter the base you chances of survival become very slim.....you must get to an alien or a "gray" by the name of edgar (voiced by Marilyn Manson who also does a great job)the story can get a little confusing sometimes, and while you're playing you will sometimes ask yourself if theres even a story at all.

Controls 10 out of 10: The controls are pretty easy to pick up, L1 to jump, L2 to duck, R2 is your secondary fire, R1 is to shoot, square is to throw grenades, X is to reload, and Triangle and cirle is to switch weapons, you use the left analog stick to move and the right analog stick to aim...

Gameplay 10 out of 10: Gameplay is really good. This game is the best FPS you'll find on PS2. The enemies in this game are also very very smart and they carrie weapons of their own, it can be their claws Machine guns and aliens weapons and grenades. The enemies in this game react very realistically and will try and KILL YOU!!! The gameplay is fast paced and the action never lets up so you'll be entertained for a good 7 hours or so...(this game is short!!)

Overall: 10mout of 10: This is a great game. You should rewnt it first to see if you like it and if you like it then go out and buy it!! Enjoy the game!
