NCAA Football 06

Review by allstar56

"Legends still exist"

Every single year people decide to compare and contrast NCAA with madden, and every year football fans always find ways to say that madden is the better football game. This year EA sports did something right, and I finally believe that this is the year that NCAA will be the best football game on the PS2

Sound 5/10- This year EA sports decided to add those annoying little EA tracks to NCAA. The "highlights" includes one song from The clash, and The Pixies, as well as a few other artists, but nothing spectacular. You will find yourself switching back to the classic fight songs within a week.

Graphics- 10/10

Every year I seem to say that EA cannot do better at this, and every year I am proved wrong. Every single movement from the players running on the field to the crowd's face is an improvement.

Game play- 10/10

The one question on everybody's mind is this: Has EA fixed the passing. I`m happy to say that they have, but I`ll say it is still a little unrealistic. If you played a minute of NCAA 05 last year; you would complete a pass about twenty to fifty percent of the time ( That is, of course, if you were a great player. This year it seems that every pass you throw up can be caught, but im not complaining.

Control- 7/10

The main thing that the "player" will notice in NCAA 06 is that juking has been replaced to the right ANALOG stick. In other words; if you wanted to juke right, you would have to hit the right on the analog stick. The only other "major" addition would be the hit stick, and that doesn't work too well.

Replay Value- 10/10

The first minute you pop in NCAA 06 You will be asked to partake in a "spring drill" Depending on the position that you choose, you will be taken to one of four new drills. In these drills, the better you do; the better the player you have for "race to the Heisman mode".

The only real contrast between Race to the Heisman Mode and Dynasty mode is that the Computer does the coaching, recruiting, and work. That's not always a good sign; so as your player progresses, you will have to become the "star" of your team.

Buy or rent-

Again, if you can only buy one football game this year, it should be NCAA. At first you will quickly get mad for giving up the long touchdown, but like all games you will get better, and maybe, just maybe you will become a legend.
