Terminator 3: The Redemption
Review by TheeMikester
"I'll Be Back... I think... ¬_¬"
Terminator 3. Whenever we hear that name, we remember Arnold Schwarzenegger. Him and a bunch of bumbling humans and a bunch of robots bent on taking over the world. Well, that's what this review is about.
Gameplay
The gameplay overall is good. A bunch of action, adventure, all that jazz. Pretty easy to understand once you have completed the first two missions. Although, the controls... Err... Need some work. When on a car, you can't turn that well. The fact that you can knock down a pole on a motorcycle is beyond me. Oh, and the gun targeting system just blows me away. If you have your beacon on an enemy, it's realy hard to get it off. Once you do, you will be on another enemy that you don't want to kill. Fighting a bunch of enemies while trying to complete an objective will be the main hard point of this game. Otherwise, good gameplay.
Story
The story is almost like the real one. In fact, they play some of the Terminator 3 movie in some of the ending mission scenes. But anyway, you are the Terminator. You are trying to keep the Human Race alive, You go back and forth between time periods (after Judgement Day, Before Judgement Day) and try to either stop the machines from taking over or stop the TX from killing John Connor or Katherine Brewster. Pretty decent story. Next topic.
Graphics
The graphics are good. There could be a little work on moving animation (sometimes unrealistic), but otherwise good. The characters look real, the backgrounds look great, electricity almost looks like what it's supposed to be... Overall good graphics.
Sound
The sound suits the type of mission you are on. If it's a mainly shooting mission, they have terminator like music. With driving missions, the music makes you want to race. The character's voices sound real, too. There could be a little more work on explosions and cop voices, but otherwise good audio.
Replay Value
Meh. I really wouldn't look forward to playing this game again. It get's kind of repetitive, but I would miss the action. I always liked how you could hop on to some random machine and take it for a spin, killing everything and everyone in your way. But, like I said, I wouldn't be looking forward to playing this game again. You might, I wouldn't.
Overall
GAMEPLAY: 7/10 STORY: 10/10 GRAPHICS: 9/10 SOUND: 9/10 REPLAY VALUE: 6/10
OVERALL: 8/10
I liked this game when I first played it. If you can get over the crappy controls, this is an enjoyable game. I'd rent it first, see if you like it, and then buy it.
Good Gaming!
