The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction

"What's the world coming to?! GREAT COMIC BOOK GAMES?!!"

When I first heard about this game, my thoughts were, "Great. A GTA clone and sucky comic book game all in one." MAN WAS I WRONG! This is probably the biggest surprise of the year.

GRAPHICS: 7/10
This is the only area where this game is less than stellar. While the Hulk himself and most of the other main characters are highly detailed, a lot of the civilians and objects aren't developed as well. And while the buildings look nice, the one thing that needed to look good, explosions, doesn't look as good as it probably could have been. Frame rate actually can drop a little bit if there's a ton of destruction going on at once. The cut-scenes are very nicely done however. All in all, not bad, but it could have been better.

SOUND: 8/10
HULK SMASH AND SOUND GOOD DOING IT, EVEN IF TALK BAD! The voice-overs are nicely done during the cut-scenes and even during in-game stuff. The sound effects sound incredible (haha, I'm so witty)! There could have been a little more variety to the sound effects, even if they were good. Music I actually didn't notice much. All in all, better than the graphics, still some work.

STORY: 8/10
This one closely follows the comic books and not the crappy Ang Lee movie. The main plot is that once again, Bruce Banner is trying to find a cure for his Hulk transformations, and at the same time, the military is trying to kill the Hulk. It even features some of the Hulk's old baddies! I'm glad they referenced to the comic books this time, as it really helps.

GAMEPLAY: 9/10
MAN IS THIS FUN! While the area is as big as GTA, it isn't that much of a GTA clone. While you do have a few set missions, and the "police coming after you" system is similar, you don't have any limits here. You can go around just destroying things. And there are also a ton of ways to do the said activity, like tearing up cars and using them as boxing gloves, sending massive shockwaves through the city, heck he can even run up buildings! Messing with the power of the Hulk is definitely fun, although it did seem like a short experience, and a multiplayer aspect would have been the clincher! Still a great time had by all!

OVERALL:
While no one saw this game to be good, since it was comic book stuff, this game is definitely one to buy if you are a self-respecting video gamer.
