Radiata Stories
Review by RaBDawG
"Very good Game"
This game is very well made and escapes from the traditional RPG gameline.
The game revolves around the protagonist, Jack and his journey to become a Radiata Knight like his father once was. He soon meets a fiery and stubborn companion named Ridley who will eventually grow to be the love of his life. Throughout the game Jack is faced with countless decisions that not only effect his life but that of his numerous companions and the world he lives in.
The gameplay for Radiata knights is unique in a few ways. Firstly, this game incorporates a real time fighting system that allows up to 4 characters to be linked in different formations that all have their pros and cons in battle. Furthermore, the ability to put together your own attack combinations for a wide variety of learned moves is a very unique and likable feature. Furthermore the ability to kick NPC's as well as objects can keep even the most picky game player happy for hours on end.
With the ability to interact with over 200 different NPC's, including fighting and recruiting, the game play keeps the player intrigued and engulfed in the world it creates. Throughout the game the player is constantly finding ways to earn the friendship of every character they come across. The process for gaining these relationships could be as easy as just speaking with someone, or as difficult as following the character around for hours on end to discover a way to gain their trust. With recruitbale characters ranging from homeless men on the street to mesmerizing Fairies and Orcs, the friendships forged keep the player totally obsessed with who and what they gain next.
The game also has a very creative storyline that allows the player to choose which side they will fight for: Human or Non Human(orcs, Fairies, etc). Also, with the choice the player can either be engrossed in a complicated love story or join a human population whose sole desire is to destroy everyone who is not of their race.
The only negative thing that can be said about Square Enix's latest masterpiece is the inability to save as frequently as most players would like to. However, this only adds to the challenge of the game.
Enjoy!
