"If You Love Katami, You'll Love Ribbit King"

Katamari Damacy is an addictive, weird Japanese game with great music and sound and nice but not amazing graphics. This basically describes Ribbit King for the PS2.

I preordered this game after I tried the demo and I waited oh-so long because, being it wasn't a big title, it kept getting delayed at my Electronics Boutique. So, it finally came out, and I bought it and started playing it. Just like the demo I tried, it was surprisingly fun and cool and addictive. Sure, the computer cheated a bit towards the end of the game but it didn't get impossible. It's all about memorizing what paths to take for the most points. This is very addictive. But what is this game? you ask. And what exactly is Frolf? Is it a blend of two different vegetables? No, Frolf is golf, with frogs(get it? ...I hope).

Basically, it's just golf down to it's most simple form, but the added gameplay mechanics combined with a frog bring a one-of-a-kind experience that you can't get from any other sports title.

Ribbit King comes with two discs: The first one being the game. The second disc, Ribbit King Plus! is a collection of short animated cartoons featuring all of the characters doing different things such as singing and fishing and tanning ans shopping. They are quite amusing.

There's other things to keep you playing after you beat the game, such as finishing unlocking all of the RKP! movie clips and collecting all of the trophies and bottlecaps. Figuring out exactly HOW to unlock everything, well, that's up to you to decide.

The graphics, while not amazing, do a great job at bringing the Ribbit King universe to life with plants, animals, traps and surprises(guess who was hiding in the bushes?).

Good music, decent voice acting, and neato sound effects punctuate the whole experience. It's all kiddy-sounding stuff but it works.

It's at the top of my list of games I like to play every once in a while. And for less than $20, you really should pick it up.
