X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse

Introduction - X-Men Legends II is the sequel to the first Legends game what was released last year. Legends is an action RPG and supports up to four players in co-op. So with all the Comic book based Super Hero games released lately how does it compare.

Gameplay - X-Men Legends II is an action RPG, where you choose a team of four X-Men or Brotherhood mutants if not both. There are a lot of different combinations that can lead to power boost for your team. One such combination is "Old School" which came be gained by having Cyclops, Jean, and Iceman in there original X-Men outfits, along with Magneto. The are even more mutant powers in this game than the first, and they have even made it easier to access them all. This is mainly due to the new Online mode. Now if you don't have three friends to play with you can go online and find some people and continue the story.

Unlike the first game where there were a lot a places that the game went from Multi-player to single player i.e. Mansion missions. Everything in Legends II is multi-player there are no breaks. Also unlike the first game most of the characters are accessible from the start. So you don't have to what to the end of the game to get your favorite Mutant for one level. Plus you can replay the story mode with all the characters you have unlocked.

Story - The Story is very good, because X-Men Legends is based off any actual comic Universe the Developers pull from all different Marvel X-Men Universes. This allows for a story that is similar to the Age of Apocalypse, but something all new. So you don't have to be familiar with the comics to understand or enjoy the game.

Graphics/Sound - The Graphics haven't changed much since the First Game, but they do a great job of capturing the look of the comics. The characters are some what cel-shaded, with normal 3D backgrounds. This gives the game a nice look and over all comic effect. The game also so very good sound and voice acting.

Play Time/Replayability - X-Men Legends II takes about 25 hours to complete the first time, and you can replay the story mode with will all the characters, unlocked characters, and extras you found through out the game.

Final Recommendation - If you love the X-Men, Super Heroes, Comic Books, Action Game, etc... Shoot if you like Video Games Period you must have X-Men Legends II. The game is easily the best Super Hero Game Ever.
