"The squad is in your hands"

Pure, genius. Now, I'll be the first to tell you, that I wasn't very impressed with number 2. Some people praised it, but I just felt some parts of the game very jerky. Number 3 though, is a whole different story. The story for noe, is a lot less complex and real really explain a lot of things fast and to the point. Plus, the squad orders flow a lot more easier in SOCOM 3.

To start, great controller layout, smart AI, and awesome weapon choices, this game brings it all. Let's start with the controller. Every button is used in this game, and I never got confused once with it. The squad commands are used very easy in this installment, something I didn't get from number one or two. The AI, while not the smartest out there, they do find a way to be very difficult. They will fall for cover, even if sometimes they will run out in the open if they don't see you anymore. Your squad, also, follows every order you give them to perfection. And now for the weapons, you get to create your gun, anyway you want. You have the choice between maybe 15 to 25 different guns to choose from, complete with any kind of upgrades, which range from scopes, to frag installments. The one problem I found is that sometimes your squad mates get stuck on the ground for no reason, which, while trying to go from objective from objective, can get tiring going back to save them

Hmm, well SOCOM 3's story has many high and low points. One good thing is that it keeps a constant flow to keep on track of its original plan. A madman wants to blow everyone up and kill people, and you must stop him. The game starts off with you, Dimone (Specter) Freehold, and your other three squad mates, Jester, Killjoy, and Simple going into a town in North Africa, trying to resolve this little conflict. But what you soon learn is that this “conflict” is a lot worse than you thought, and is soon about to turn into a full fledge war. The bad thing about the story is that it gets very difficult to keep up with some of the points in the story.

Guns sound very realistic, the AI actually sounds like scared Africans, Americans, or Europeans, and when you jump in water, it sounds like jumping in water, who would of thunk it? Anyway everything sounds up to date and clear. The music does get a little dull though, but other than that, great.

Wonderful, spectacular, and gorgeous, are just three words that can describe the graphics SOCOM 3. Now, being an avid shooter game player, I know that some times, you're not always getting what you're promised in all games. Well, this game delivers some thing that others don't always do. Good graphics. From the cut scenes to the actual game, this game shows off everything that the PS2 has to offer. Nothing is really wrong in this spot.

Well, that concludes this review. All in all, this game is great. I would suggest it to anyone who likes shooters or wants something fun to play. It's a must buy for all PS2 owners. Multiplayer wise, it's great, but the single player is what kept me going. The graphics are amazing; controller layout is the simplest SOCOM has ever seen. It's probably one of the better games to have for the ps2 right now, and deserves a place in everyone's collection.
