""More paths and twists than a country road map""

At first glipse, this game seems like it shouldn't grab your attention. But the more you look at the game cover, the more you are engulfed to pick it up. Thats exactly what Atari/Quadicdream was aiming for.

The game starts off with you controlling the main character,Lucas Kane, right after stabbing a man to death in a diner restroom. "THE GAME PUTS YOU RIGHT IN THE ACTION"! It is from this point that the choices come as quick as a flood. What do you do with only a timed time before NYPD's "finest" go use the john??? Your choices from this point sends you upon a "path" of many twists and turns.

The Story

The story is great as you play from many "angles" of the story. Besides controlling Lucas (who is trying to clear his name), you control two cops assigned to the case: Carla Valenti and Tyler Miles. ( they gather clues and try to understand the motives of the case) You also control other characters when the time is needed.

The Controls

The controls on the game could be so much better. There are times when the controller was responsive, but most times I was going the opposite way because I didn't change the camera angle or the controller just just didn't respond. (the controller was brand new) When using the analog to pick up items or use actions it can be hard, but after alot of practice it becomes second nature.

The Gameplay

Great, gameplay like this wouldn't be expected in a game like this. Most of the game's action is based on a "Simon-like" game, in which the colors act as the directions. When action is initiated, two "Simon-like" orbs will appear on the screen and it's up to you to move either the left or right analog in that directions in sequential order. This can be annoying, because the colors don't seem to glow bright enough when the colors mix with the action. So the gameplay can be a hit or miss. But the gameplay will keep you on your toes though.

The Graphics/Sound

The sound has an excellant. The voice actors fit the characters and portray their actions accurately. The game's soundtrack is great range, which includes Teddy Pendergrass's "Love T.K.O" (yea, it's played for you know what), to (sounds like music group "Nickelback") Theory of a Deadman's "Santa Monica" (fave song in the game). The ambient sounds are also top notch and sound so lifelike that its spooky. The graphics are good, but not great. The scenery and backgrounds are vivid and seem real. The characters look nice from a distant, but up close you seen then pixels in them a bit.

The Replay Value

Very High.If you want to see everything and experience all the endings, you have to play this game more than once. This game has just as much play twists and bizarre storyline as the series of Metal Gear Solid. Then this game is for you, or you should at least rent it and give it a try. I'm sure this "sleeper" game will "wake you up" and "open" your eyes.
