"Move out! We've got a galaxy to conquer!"

Star Wars Battlefront is one awesome game! You get to be a regular foot soldier and fight your way to victory!

Game Play 8/10

Just as I said before you are one of the regular soldiers, and they keep it real by not allowing you to control Jedi. Jedi are missed but are a good sacrifice to keep your interest in being a regular soldier. I didn't say there weren't Jedi because in some circumstances they fight along side you.

There are four factions: the CIS, Republic, Rebel Alliance, and Galactic Empire. Even though the CIS can only fight the Republic and the Rebel Alliance can only fight the Galactic Empire. Each faction has 5 units which are as follows: a regular soldier or trooper, an anti-vehicle unit (rocket launcher), a pilot, sniper and special unit. Each faction has a special unit to fight with that is different from the other factions.

Weapons are specific to each unit; you cannot pick up or get new weapons except for refilling or getting more ammo.

There are 3 modes of play and they are as follows: Galactic Conquest, Historical Campaign, and Instant Action. In Galactic Conquest you choose from a list of pre-set faction modes which have different selections for battle. Like one is the CIS and Republic as your choices and they have a different set up of the planets then the other title selection. In Galactic Conquest you have a bunch of planets and you go and fight on them in turn by who wins. There are planetary bonuses which help you out if you control all the maps on the particular planet. If you lose the other player gets to choose which of your controlled maps they want to attack. Historical Campaign is where there is a set of maps in a row that the faction faces the other in this series like instant action except it is always the same maps in the row for that faction. Instant Action is where you choose a map out of your choices and pick what faction you want to be. (not all let you have a choice of all factions)

Gaming is set where each side has an equal starting force, which is their reinforcement count. This is over 100 reinforcements to over 200 reinforcements! You and your fellow forces spawn at the command posts which you have to control over. Every time a unit dies it takes a point off your reinforcement count. The object of the game is to win, so to do this you can either kill every one of their reinforcements or you can capture and control all the command posts for a short countdown. This countdown allows the other team to try to capture a command post. You capture command posts by going to the red lighted area which is marked on your map and stand there until it changes from red to white and then to green. If any opposing unit is in this small radius you will have to kill him before it allows you to continue to take over the command post. Your own command posts are marked in green.

This game has a lot of great features and options to keep the game interesting. All the modes above are very fun and can give you a challenge for a long time. Fighting as your favorite faction on any map is fun and really never gets old.

There are also many vehicles that can go on land and in the air which can change the tide of any battle with the right control. Not all maps have vehicles but a lot do some have a few vehicles while other maps have a lot.

Even though I believe there is a shortage of difference between factions and units it's still a great game and experience.

Controls 10/10

The controls are flawless in my opinion! They match up with the above statistics of your weapons and such so its always simple, quick and easy! They are easy to learn and make perfect sense; once you play you'll know. No complicated over done controls that leave you stuck or dumbfounded.

Graphics 9/10

The graphics are great and nothing ever looks bad or not cared for. This game isn't focused around graphics, even though they are outstanding and never take away from the experience. The explosions look great and details are taken into account, especially how great the units look. You feel absorbed in the game because nothing blunt or ugly obstructs the game.

Sound 9/10

It has the regular Star Wars music you expect but it is great and gives the right feeling. The explosions shots and rolling of Droideka are perfect. Frantically throughout the battles there are soldiers calling giving commands and all the effects really throw you right into the battle. The sound really sounds great allowing you to have a great time.

Replay Value 9/10

The whole concept of the game revolves around playing maps over and over again. It is a battle game in which does not get old with all the modes, factions, units and maps that will keep it interesting and fun for a long time. It is one of those games that you pick up often to play for a while. It never really gets old and if you wait a month or a couple of weeks when you pick it up you'll be absorbed right back in it and wonder why you ever put it down.

Rent or Buy

You should buy it; it is very fun and is a great value for your money. Right now it is a greatest hit so it's cheap too. Go out and buy it because it's pointless to rent because you can get it cheap and I know you'll most likely like because it's one of those great fun games! If this sounds like the right game for you, you might want to wait for Star Wars Battlefront 2 and buy or rent it. I recommend to go out and get Star Wars Battlefront because you can't go wrong and it is a great addition to anyone's collection without dropping much money.
