"A game no where near Mario Kart: Double Dash"

Crash Tag Team Racing is the third racing game in the Crash series. Although the "team" part in the title sounds like a Mario Kart: Double Dash clone, its no where near MK: DD. Here is my review on CTTR:

Story: 8/10

Not much of a story for a racing game. You are in Von Clutch's amusement park trying to win power crystals. There are five different worlds where you must get power crystals by doing missions, buying them, or winning races. I give the story an 8.

Graphics: 10/10

The graphics or this game is the best than any other game! The character look better and not too cartoonish. The tracks look 10 times better now! Each track has a theme like one is a Fairy Tale track which is full of frogs, fairies, and swans while there is a creepy track with evil trees and witches. The amusement park and 5 worlds are detailed well also. I give the graphics a 10.

Sound: 10/10

The sound is great! The music fits each track and area perfectly. But the thing I glad they changed is the number of lines a character says. This time you don't have to worry about a character repeating the same line. I also glad they gave NPC's voices with funny lines too. I give the sound a 10.

Gameplay: 10/10

I will start with the racing elements. You are on a track in a kart and you are trying to win first. There are many different types of weapons to fire at computer players karts. That is not all. During a race you can press "Triangle" to team up with another racer. You can either be the person who shoots at other cars to slow them down, or you can be the driver while the other character shoots. The best part is you can clash at anytime and you can even unclash and be a lone racer again.

But there is way more than racing. There are 5 worlds including the amusement park you can navigate. In those worlds you can collect power crystals to get to others worlds or buy different things. You can also get coins in these worlds to buy different outfits and the like. There are also mini-games and stunt fields you can do to collect crystals and cars. You can also trigger these cool "Die-o-Rama" cut scenes where Crash dies in many different ways. The adventure part really makes the game better.

This game has a lot of replayability like getting high records in the mini-games and beating the races on higher difficulties.

Buy, Rent, or Forget About It

This game is a definite buy if you like racing games. Don't let the "team" part make you think its a Mario Kart: Double Dash clone. This game is a must.
