The Warriors

Review by roadkiller1

"Rockstar has done it again!"

Rockstar has done it again!
One of the best games I have ever played. It may be over the top action like with all the fighting and stuff like that but this game is great. There is a lot of blood, Swearing, and some times throwing up. Isn't that what Rockstar is about though. I mean come on there's like all of Rockstar games are over the top and this one isn't different. Enough talking about this though why don't we get to the review.

Graphics: 8.5/10
I know up in person the graphics are really really bad but when there are people in the background the graphics look really good and if you pay attention to the little things like there eyes blinking. I know other games have that but so far this is the first game that blinks when there is no movie going on. I mean there are other games with a lot better graphics like Final Fantasy but it doesnt have to have the greatest graphics to be a really good game.

Controls: 9.5
The controls are really good the only problem I have to say about the controls is that I with you could just change them manually. They sometimes get a little confusing when trying to call some of your gang members over but overall in the control department I thought it was actually pretty good.

Gameplay: 10/10
Great gameplay. I mean like you can pick up almost anything and use it as a weapon. The only problem though is the camera it could have been better in my opinion. Other then that though the gameplay is similar to Manhunt and Grand Theft Auto but without hardly any guns. Really If you think about it some games don't need to have guns to be good. So the gameplay may have been really similar to GTA and Manhunt but believe me The Warriors are a lot better.

Story: 10/10
The story is good. Its based of the movie which the game story starts before the movie story. Its basically one gang member gets screwed by his own gang starts a new gang to try and be the best and someone gets shot and they blame it on you (The Warriors) and you have to travel back to your place without getting killed. I didn't say to specific stuff because I didn't want to spoil it for you but believe me this is an really good story.

Difficulty: Can be changed
This game is really hard its ok on easy but it is hard game. So if your a begainner with video games this may not be the right choice for you but it does try and give you help. All in all though you can change the difficulty of the game so it will be different ever time. I just thought it was hard on easy mode.

Lasting: 9/10
This game can actually last pretty long. The story lasts about 15-25 hours and the bonus stuff usually lasts around 10-20 hours. I mean this is really long for a fighter like this. They also have rumble mode which you can play as long as you want which is really fun. They also have an arcade game once you beat the game which is about 45 minutes long which is like a Double Dragons rip off. All together this is a long game but it really depends on how much time you spend on rumble mode.

Overall: 10/10
This game is great beside some miner flaws with the camera. The graphics are also not that great but in my mind gameplay and story is what counts. Also it may have a lot of swearing and stuff in it but that kind of makes it funnier but this isn't a game for the young. To tell you the truth this is the best game I have ever played on the Playstation 2 and im sure you will enjoy this game as well.

Rent or Buy: Buy
I mean like if you have the money you should really buy this game. It would have been even more of a buy if they had a discount if you bought the DVD of The Warriors but they didnt. I will say buy though because its a great game.
