"Hulk does smash, but not that much."

There are dozens of ways to capitalze on all franchises. You see this in the current trend of remaking movies, putting sports stars on tv, and the use of both these franchises in the creation of video games. Is this wrong? Of course not. It's simply good marketing. I mean who wouldn't want to experience what its like to be the hulk. To vent your frustrations out on whatever and whoever you want. Unfortunately, the creators of this game want you to do this a little differently.

First of all the graphics for this game are simply as good as they're going to get. With free-roaming games like this and GTA, its amazing that they made it this good without any sort of slowdown to gameplay. The color scheme is rather bland, adding a few bright lights to add some contrast is a poor way to hide the dullness of the game.

The audio for the game are barely decent. They picked some slowly moving orchestra which may work with an RPG like the Final Fantasy, it just simply doesn't work here. Also, for those wanting to here a few of the Hulks one-liners like the overly judging "Puny Humans" to the ever popular "Hulk Smash" will be disappointed as he says nothing. You 'll have to turn your speakers up to eleven to even get a hint of his grunt and groans. Meanwhile, all your enemies will have trash to talk and you'll hear them, a lot. This imbalance just seems strange here.

As for gameplay, it is simply flawless. You play as Hulk and basically do as you wish, you can grab and throw just about anything, destroy all things in sight and even run up walls and gain limited flight. The controls here are surprisingly responsive and the assortment of moves available are amazing.

The real problem of the game is the star of it. Those who know about The Hulk realize that he doesn't do much except smash and break things, which would make a great concept for a game. Unfortunately, this game is comprised mostly of snatch and grabbing missions and not really of the smashing variety. That isn't to say that there aren't missions where things can be smashed, but these sort of missions are few and far between.

I don't think I could recommend this to the casual hulk fan. this game is best for those who either are Hulk fanatics or those who enjoyed the spiderman game, but thought that it missed a big green anger management candidate.
