Star Wars: Battlefront II
Review by Almighty_8_8
"Battlefront 1.5 I think not!"
Let me start by saying I was a major fan of Battlefront 1. After about a month I still kept playing BF1 even without online. But I'd only play with a friend who also loved these 3 different maps, the Bespin: Platforms, Rhen Var: Harbour and Geonosis: Spire. The reasons for this is because we became really attached to these maps and got a warm feeling of familiarity everytime I put one on. The sad part for me is they only kept one of these maps for battlefront 2 but oh well on to the review.
Graphics: 9
These graphics could very well be the best graphics in a star wars game to date and thats a long list. I just found a couple things wrong with them. For one storm trooper armor seems too shiny. Two, all the droids on the CIS didnt seem to be as stunning looking as everything else they looked well pretty dull. And finally 3. when you were deep inside the capital ships I thought the panels and things looked more like something you'd see on a ship from the move alien or halo because they were so green and bright. But thats all I can say about the graphics other then it has great particle/water effects and everything in the environment except some Sep droids had major detail on it.
Sound:8
Wow the voices are surprisingly good but still I would of liked more of the movie actors do take part in the voice overs a.k.a James Earl Jones. The music in star wars had always been some of the best around. And in this game its no exception most of the classic songs are in plus the new ones such as duel of fates. My only problem with this is the songs are looped so you won't hear even half of the whole song when playing.
Gameplay: 9.5
The most important aspect of any game. Battlefront 1 was amazing except for its its boring singe player mode. But now we got that (conquest) plus the new one that lets you play through the sad end of the clone wars all the way up to the end of the empire saga. But not just that we now have heros and space combat playable!!! This right here sells the game because without a doubt the presentation of ship combat is truly amazing. They start you off in the hanger bay your free to move around the lower decks of the capital ship or you can jump right into a small ship and fly threw the force field into danger and excitement. Controls for ships are now more stiff making it easier to maneuver your space craft of choice so you wont be crashing into everything like in BF1. Heros are fun to play as but have a timelimit unless you play assault in Mos Eisley. Its too bad thats the only place to only be heros though, unless of course you have the PC version because there are already mods to get around that. The Fetts are awesome but jedis don't seem deep enough as they only have a couple combos, obviously playing these guys won't be anything like playing the jedis in revenge of the sith. Their are at least 16 different maps and most of them are quite fun and you should take you awhile to get bored of. And if you do get bored of them their will stil be one or two where you will consider them to be classics and never stop playing. Not to mention all the new modes they added like hunt and capture the flag.
Replay Value: 10
I don't see how I could give this any lower, not with all the new things they've added. Battlefront 2 will give you months of enjoyment but I recommend playing it without online for a couple months then like me when you do get online you won't be able to put the game down for another 2 months. This way you get the longest enjoyment out of it.
