Review by Murk

"Despite how uncommon it is nowadays, it was still a good game."

Yes, it is a rare game. At least where I come from. Even without playing the first version, it's easy to know what's going on in this game. Now, for the rating itself:

Graphics: 10/10

Easily the best graphics I've seen in a long time. You get amazing cut-scenes with them, and even the gameplay graphics are pretty good. The animations for the psychic powers are well done, as are the enemies and the main characters. The graphics get a perfect 10.

Sound: 4/10

To tell you the truth, I didn't get much out of sound. The little movie before starting the game was pretty good, and so was the sound for it, but you rarely hear music of any kind during a mission or level; it's mainly just eerie sounds representing the place. You won't find much in the sound, so it gets a 4.

Gameplay: 7/10

This game is hard! Very hard! Even on Easy Mode, you'll find this game hard during your first playthrough. In this game, you'll be running around to different areas a lot, just to find one thing that you are looking for. You'll definitely need a walkthrough to beat the game, even if you only need to look at one once. Gameplay itself isn't the greatest, but it's difficulty bumps it to a 7.

Story: 8/10

This is quite a good story, but it is also depressing. The story is about a Galerian that leads the entire Galerian race: The Last Galerian, ASH. Basically, the entire story and game is devoted to defeating the Last Galerians. It is quite challenging, as I stated above. The Story gets an 8.

Replay Value: 9/10

There's a lot of replay value in this game. The game itself is divided into three modes: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Each one is harder than the last. Easy ode itself is hard, so don't attempt anything harder until you're sure that you can handle it. For this reason, replay value gets a 9.

Overall: 8/10

This was a pretty good game overall. It deserves the rating it gets. It beats the first version in my opinion.

Rent/Buy

The game has been out for a long, long time. It is only about $15-$20, so I recommend you buy it if you want it. You won't get much out of renting it, as it takes a while to beat.
