"Mediocre Jedi experience is more like it"

Revenge of the sith, the video game. Now let's face it, movie video games are almost never good. Quite predictably this is no different, the only thing that saves this game from being a dud is the multiplayer mode. I guess the "force" was just not strong with this one. Really RotS just seemed rushed like my force joke. Well anyway, on with the review.

Graphics: 7/10

The graphics are neither great nor horrible. Character models were pretty accurate, but they lacked any real detail and are far from resembling their real life counterparts. The environments did resemble the movie but aren't really anything to wow at. Overall the graphics were just okay.

Gameplay: 6/10

Don't believe the tag, ultimate Jedi experience. The light saber combat system isn't really anything we haven't seen before. There is a little variety in there, but almost everyone besides Anakin and Obi-Wan has recycled moves, making them a bit boring and repetitive. Force powers surprisingly aren't as smooth to control as they should be...

In fact, I'd say that the Jedi combat in the 2nd “Star Wars Battlefront” game was better than this. And the story mode in this game is pretty lame and short, with a lot of bothersome glitches. And they practically hold your hands throughout all the missions, making you feel like your some sort of dumb@$$.

Story: 5/10

The story is basically a dumbed down version of the movie. Revenge of the Sith, is a perfect example of why it's not a good idea to release the game of the movie before the actual movie. Because they're going to want to keep it spoiler free but that usually results in a very poorly-telled game.

Sound: 7/10

The sound here is good for the most part. The sound effects of the light sabers are all authentic and sound like it was pulled straight out of the movie. John Williams soundtrack is also here, which makes the gameplay that more exciting.

BUT voice acting is horrible! The VA's for all the characters don't really sound like they mean what they say and....they're just plain awful. Not only is the acting bad but a lot of the dialogue sounds like it was written by a 2 year old. One of Mace Windu's actual phrases in the game is “come here, I've got something to show you”. Are you kidding me?

Multiplayer: 8.3/10

This is the mode in the game that saves It from being a TOTAL dud. The multiplayer is quite fun to play with friends and pals, despite the simple light saber combat. It could keep you and your buds playing for hours to count. Co-op missions are boring though.

Rent or Buy:

Neither, honestly the game just isn't worth spending any money on. So give RotS a pass, as there are many good other multiplayer games as well as Star Wars games out there. If one of your friends has it lying around somewhere though, it's worth a play through.

FIN
