Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition
Review by darkfir
"A dream comes true."
One of the best action games ever DMC3, well many gamers didn't get the chance to play it (with RE4 & GOW being released at that time) but now its your best chance to play both the original DMC3 & the SE!
Well, if you have played DMC3 then you know all the frustration and insane difficulty DMC3 had, but now Capcom adjusted the difficulty level. Remember having to save your yellow orbs for boss battles? Well no more, now you get infinite continuing system! That's right you won't have to replay the entire level just because a demon got one lucky shot on you!
The biggest addition to the game, is the extra playable character Vergil, yea Vergil Dante's twin brother and the main villain in DMC3. Well, Vergil is not just another custom, he actually plays completely different from Dante. He has his own unique style called Dark slayer and of course he has his own upgradeable weapons as well.
One thing about Vergil you will notice is his strength, yes he is stronger than Dante. Enemies will fall faster, and boss battles are little easier now, of course unless you are playing on the hardest difficulty. Speaking of difficulty modes, Capcom have added one more difficulty level Very hard .
One downside about Vergil is the fact that he has one style only, of course dark slayer is one of the coolest styles in the series though.
Last but not least of course is the Bloody Palace, this is basically a survival mode, where you fight hundreds and hundreds of demons. One of my Fav bonuses is the Demo Digest, this feature allows you to replay any cut-scenes you want, of course you have to unlock them first.
So is it worth buying? Well yea it is, seriously combine one of the best action games ever with lots of new features & bonuses and a price of $19 = MUST.BUY. Even if you have never played a DMC game, this is the best one in the series to start off with.
Presentation
The load times are even faster than before, the story and all cut scenes are still there.
Graphics
Huge environments, amazing level design, fluid animation and no slow downs at all.
GamePlay
Very stylish, deep combo system, less frustration.
Replay Value
Tons of extras & bonuses, two playable characters, and one new mode. (NOTE: You need to have one saved data from DMC3 on your memory card to access the new additions, or you will have to beat the game using Dante )
10/10 (Recommended!)
