Def Jam: Fight for NY
Review by shAdo_1253
"Better than wrestling"
Introduction: This is the second game to Def Jam.
Matchs: 9/10
There are 9 different matches (including window, demolition, and inferno matches) and 3 different ways to play all of them so that would be 18 different matchs and there are 24 different arenas which are not just rings when they are rings they will have just a regular wrestling ring but the others are like a middle/high school style fight where they are surrounded by people and they will help you or attack you and there is one arena where you can fight them and knock them out of the ring
Replay ability: 9/10
The is a lot of matchs to play and every match is multiplayer except in story mode of course.
Multiplayer: 10/10
You can fight the second player or team up with him and fight the A.I. and I believe that the multitap is compatible for this game.
Controls: 10/10
This controls are simple and really easy to learn. Except when you pick up a weapon from the ground so you might grab the other player or A.I.
Story/play time: 8.5/10
The story is you're a newcomer that is out to prove him self. you earn some cash, get some money and spend it. As you play through the game you get to know more people and what their purpose in the game is. The story is thrilling but its not every long. You could beat in about a half a day or so. But the main story to it is you first create a character and you are placed in between a rival crew versus rival crew for a underground like fight club and you gotta take over clubs but I don't want to rune the hole thing so I'll just stop there.
Difficulty: 10/10
The A.I. is good and keeps the player frustrated. But when you get the hang of it, its not so hard.
Audio: 9/10
It has a great song list and as you play through story mode you unlock more. But the only problem is that theirs not rock in it (well I guess cause theirs no rock characters in it so) its every rap music from classic LL Cool J's mama said knock you out to Today's Outkast.they got sound for every thing from hit some one with a weapon to fist fighting to bashing there heads in with the environment and there is a voice for every character in the game even your created character.
Characters: 10/10
74 characters(including your character) are in the game but there all rappers so if you don't like rap you probably wouldn't know any of them and there are some movie stars in it too.
Graphics: 10/10
This are the best graphic in a fighting game that I've seen when you grapple or hit you hit him not the air. When he breeds the blood hits the ground and stays there and if you badly beatin' you will have a split lip and black eyes.
Rent it or Buy it?
Buy it would be better cause if you rent it you won't stop renting it. So if you got the money for it buy it now or ask for your money right now and buy it!
Overall: 9/10
So if you're a fan of the hip hop genre and a fan of wrestling/street fighting style then your gonna love this game and if you hate wrestling games then don't even bother touching this game or even looking at it.
Pros: great storyline
Great soundtrack
Great graphics
Easy controls to understand
Got all rappers and rappers voices
A lot of clothing to chose from for your character
Cons: not much character face visuals
No online play!?
Long loading time
Little replay value to story mode
