"Outdated? Sort of...."

I was casually walking around in EB Games when I found this game. Apparently, it was only $5 for a pre-used game. It looked interesting, so I bought it.

Graphics: 8/10
Cell-shaded. Everything in this game feels like puppets and dolls. Whenever you're hit by enemy gunshots, you'll "bleed" stuffings. It's quite detailed and cute.

Sound: 7/10
Some tunes can get annoying but the sound effects are generally okay. The voice acting isn't horrendous and it suits the characters well.

Game-play: 8/10
It's a mixed bag. First of all, this is a weird combination of FPS and TPS. Your aim is same as FPS and TPS but the camera isn't over your right shoulder. It's rather right behind your character. You won't have a problem seeing things in front of you though.

Essentially, there are several playable characters (all of them are animals) and they all have unique abilities. Rufus the dog can dig through holes, the kangaroo can jump higher than others, the dragon can glide, and etc. Besides those differences, they're eventually the same. Throughout the levels, you can rescue babies with your character. More of them you rescue, more cheats you'll get.

There are many worlds and your character can switch into any other character by simply touching one of the green-colored spheres. Many worlds in this game are highly original, but clunky controls will slow you down.

Some levels are highly original as I said before. There is a sequence where the characters will have some sort of flashback in Matrix style. It's very fun and creative. Puzzles throughout the game will keep you entertained also.

Story: 5/10
It's too cliched to be any fun. Your heroes' spouses/siblings/parents get kidnapped by an evil villain. You have to go and kill him. However, the

Controls: 5/10
Much different from FPS games. Even on beginner settings, the controls take a while to get used to. Every time you move, the cross hair will be moved in front of you. Not good.

Pros:
+Cute graphics
+Some very original ideas
+Variety of guns

Cons:
-Bad controls
-Cliched story line

Final Verdict: 6.4/10

If you want a game with no story line and a good fun, rent this game.
