"More Xcitement then you can handle!"

After the success of the Megaman Anniversary Collection for PS2,GC and XBox, it was not surprising that an X Collection would soon follow even though the GBA version of MMAC was never released.

Graphics 10: I'll go by emulation standards here. The graphics are crisp and clean and are actually in their original SNES and PS1 resolution which is kinda cool. But I wish they added a 640x480 mode because that would make the graphics look even cleaner, but I guess Capcom wanted to make it as close to the originals as possible.
However Megaman X1-X4 had the best 2D graphics in the series, the graphics in X5 and X6 look very blah and not as detailed and colorful, as X1-X4.

Music 10: The music here was emulated perfectly with no note misstep. They sound actually clearer then the original games themselves sometime. This collection is packed with memorable music, like Boomerang Kuwanger, Zero's X2 theme, etc.

Control 10: These have got to be the best controlling Megaman games ever, X can move without a hitch and so can Zero. And you can change the controls to anyway you like which is a plus.

Gameplay 9: X1-X4 had the best action packed no nonsense gameplay, while X5 had a sorta annoying Time based system, while X6 had the sorta painful Nightmare system where the stages change depending on what boss you defeat and have nightmare creatures that ruin the characters that you have to rescue to get powerups and upgrades from. Oh and Megaman Battle and Chase is very fun too, which makes me wonder why it was never released here, I heard Sony stopped Capcom from releasing Battle and Chase for some weird reason even though the game was in 3D. Maybe because it was kinda close to Mario Kart or that they were soon planning on Crash Racing game for PS1? I really don't know.

Extras: 6: Lets see a few pictures, some music from the X games, tips on getting ultimate moves, etc, the best extra is the Megaman Battle and Chase you get. It would be nice it there were commericals of the Japanese X games, since I think Capcom made commericals for almost all of them. Also it would been nice if Megaman Xtreme 1 and 2 were in the collection for completeness sake.

In all this is one of the best Collections you can buy, so if you are a Megaman fan why not pick this one up and let go of the hate about Inafune removing remixed music and stuff so he could use them on Maverick Hunter X. In fact this will also make a great companion to MMAC and Maverick Hunter X.
