"An amazing sequal let down by the thing they said would make it better!"

Hello. This is my first review of this game and it might be a little off. But anyway let's get started.

Story:
The story is called Rise of the Empire and you are part of the 501st an elite group of clones that serve the Emperor right through the clone wars and even into the time of the rebellion. Basically you go through the whole story battling on lots of different kinds of planets from Corusaunt to Hoth. The story mode is quite good there are lots of levels to go through and there is quite a lot of depth in the story mode. There is also the added benefit of having lots of objectives to do sometime some of the levels are quite hard so the story mode does keep you going for a good amount of time. I give the story mode a 9 as the downside is that it stops at Hoth and they could have added a lot more levels to it as well as some more bonus objectives and some unlockable things.

Graphics:
Basically all I can say about these is that if you have played the first battlefront you will pretty much know what they look like. The graphics are good very well done. Sometimes you find it a little bit glitchy and some of the graphics are a little muddy in places like the dark planets or out in space as well as the fact you occasionally see through walls and ships and stuff and can sometimes result in you getting stuck or killed. Apart from that it's ok though and they are just what you expect from a Playstation 2 game. I give it a 9

Sound:
Pure star wars sounds nothing anyone hasn't really heard already. The laser blasts sound genuine and the ships all sound like they are meant to. The music sometimes messes up and starts repeating itself but that's not too much of a bother. You also get all the original sound tracks with all the original songs from all 6 of the movies. I give the sound a 9

Gameplay:
Now this is were it gets let down a little. Oh what can I say I mean what happened to Battlefront 1's amazing gameplay. I get the felling sometimes that Battlefront 2 has been degraded. Everything in this game seems to have been dumbed down from its predecessor. There does not even seem to be as many troops on screen as well as the removal of some very fun planets. A new feature has been released though. Space battles everything we all wanted. To be in the seat of an x-wing attacking a star destroyer. Well we did get space battles but they were a bit of a disappointment. For a start when iam flying around in a Tie-fighter in space in the middle of a battle I don't really want to feel like iam all alone and that's the feeling battlefront gives you. Also I find it very hard to actually lose space battles. For a start I haven't been invaded by the enemy in the transports ever also the enemy never seems to actually destroy any of my ship. The final problem is that all space battles ever really come down to is destroying the command bridge then the sensor relay etc. I really feel Lucas could have done a lot better with space battles. Now on to the next part. Jedi that's what else we were promised to be able to be Darth Vader and slice down hundreds of troops. Well we were given it and it has delivered quite well. I feel that a good job was done on the Jedi and the only part I don't like is that I don't see the computer ever come and try and combat my Jedi. AS well as that you have the added bonus that you can get your weapons upgraded to lots of new kinds. Like a new rifle that shoots burst shots instead of the ordinary ones. I give the gameplay a 7 as it is let down by space battles.

Rent or Buy:
I say buy this one. There is lots to do the story is not short enough to finish in renting period and it has lots to keep you going as well as the fact that you can unlock lots of different guns and weapons. You even have a new mode hunt where you can kill the gungans and ewoks and who doesn't love doing that now eh.
