How do I beat the weird, mechanical spider-thing on killing fields?

I've gotten the RPD but every time i even try to pass that robo-thing, it slaughters me.Can anyone help?Answer soon PLZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When u first see it you can fire off the one rocket, then equip your knife and run back to the "base" where all the other rockets are

Don't try to pass it. Just shoot the hell out of it from cover.
