Btw, I mostly am talking about whether or not 2nd player can change name from guest, and be able to upgrade stats.
The Guest is able to customize everything. you will not be able to do it in the main menu but you can change it in story mode or during the standby menu before starting a T-Hunt. All the stats are saved for the guest so even if you quit they will still have their stuff.
The "Guest" name also isn't changeable, but everything else is customizable.

yes, the 2nd player can edit their own character, guns, and everything. no preset characters like in vegas 1. What a relief!

The name "guest" can not be changed. Also the game starts guest at first rank, but there is some kind of glitch were it can copy your character into the "guest" slot. What this does is make guest look just like your guy and have the same setups and rank. It does not effect your player 1 character and like mentioned in co-op THs before the match guest can change anything but sadly does not get to view what the stuff looks like on his character. Same in story co-op when you are at a green ammo box or between scenes. You can play around with the player one model and see what you like, write it down and then in "guest" make those changes.
