I was kinda relieved that this game was meant to be single player. A extra online/offline coop kinda thing would be nice too, but I generally prefer to play offline and alone, for trophy sake and it's nice not having to be in that type of scenario all the time or have parts taken away.

Yes 2 people can play off same platform. However you both will be controlling the same players. You will pass the controller back between both of you to take turns.
