"This game is tons of fun, even with its flaws"

While this isn't the game with the most features, the ones it has are extremely exciting and well worth playing.

Single Player:

Graphics: 9
These graphics are probably the best seen on the playstation 3 yet. The mud gets on the camera, the cars leave trails, the atmosphere is almost perfect, and you pretty much get blinded by the sun when you're driving towards it. This game isn't without it's flaws though. I know a lot of people were dissapointed that the grass and other vegetation were 2D in the demo from PSN. I'm sorry to report that it still is 2D. Also, sometimes the textures don't really fit the track. Especially on the Tenderizer.

Gameplay: 10
This is one of the most chaotic and fun racing I've ever played, especially if you play it in first person. Cars are exploding all around you, people on bikes are flipping you off. It's just plain awesome. The amazing tracks make this even better. There might not be many, but the ones that they included are some of the best ever seen in a racing game. Also, I have to talk about the different classes of vehicles. With all these different classes it really changes up the gameplay and makes it a different experience every time you go down a track. The best place this is shown is on The Grizzly. You can choose from all the different types of vehicles and see which one best suits you. I personally went on the bikes because I liked weaving in and out of the other cars and trucks. Also, each different vehicle has it's own terrain that's best suited for it. For example, the mudpluggers like the mud while the rally cars live for long straight aways. This perspective changes your strategy on every vehicle and makes it hard to not have a favorite vehicle on each different track. There also aren't enough words to describe the AI in this game.

Sound: 9
Motorstorm has one of the best sound tracks ever put into a game even though it could be beat out by SSX3. The music fits the racing feel perfectly with such songs as "Woman" and the theme song. Also, the cars make amazingly real sounds as they pass by and when they are on your bumper you can really hear them and it gets you to get more focused, especially if you've been in first place for a while.

Multiplayer

Online: 6
The online on Motorstorm unfortunately feels extremely unpolished and kind of like just a quickly thought up add-on for the american version. THe main problem with it is the menus. You have to enter into each screen just to see if you can get in a race and this becomes tedious after you've looked in 30 other race rooms. Also you can't communicate with the host so sometimes they can take forever to just start the race and you just quit that room because it's taking too long. However the online does have some good things. It keeps you addicted to the game for a long time and if you can manage to get in the game it is enormous amounts of fun. Also, if you have a headset you should definitely use it because it makes it a lot more fun.

Splitscreen:

There is none, which just plain sucks.Having splitscreen would have bumped it up to a nine.

Conclusion:

Overall, this is an amazing game. But with few tracks and only fair online it gets hurt. A LOT. The gameplay is addictive and tons of fun though so you should definitely go out and buy it right now.
