The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Review by hellacost2
"A game thats worth your time."
Yes I am addicted to Oblivion for the PS3 version. I started playing this game a few months ago. Nowadays I take small doses of it. Here are some reasons why I love every waking minute with Oblivion.
Graphics
Score 9.9 Yes a 9.9, the game has the clearest graphics I have ever seen. The brightness of the game makes you feel like your walking in real sunlight. Or if your a vampire the shine of the moon and sounds of the night make you feel that your right there. The draw distance has been improved slightly from the Xbox 360 version. Other than that the graphics really shows itself to you through the whole game.
Gameplay
Score 9.5 This game has SO MANY possibilitiespossiblities, there is so much you can do, help cause goblin wars, recover the Amulet of Kings, help recover cities. Destroy Oblivion gates. You can also ride your own horse. The features on the customizing your player is great. Unlike other games this game lets you decide if your player is going to have a big nose or little nose. The quest lead you through the map, you can be on the side of good or evil. Kill whoever you like and rob whoever you want. Unlike Morrowind, Oblivion does not let important NPCs die. So you do not have to worry about killing people you think you may need later on in the game. And the game does not allow you to drop quest items. This is good, because I tend to drop everything in my inventory. Houses can refill with food, and chests get refill every 3 days or so. I gave this game a 9.5 because it does not have many expansions. But I am sure that the Expansions will come in no time!
Sound
Score 9.5The sound is very good, the only bad thing about it is that it gets very annoying listening to the same music over and over again. But when you swing your sword the sound is perfect. When you hit your enemies it sounds like your really hitting someone.
Friendly to all Users
The game beginners in quests, and is very friendly, unlike Morrowind or other RPGs, Oblivion's NPCs are nice and very kind to all races. Most RPGs give you bad directions like go Northwest from *Insert place here*, and it expects you to find that place, and after searching for hours you find that you are in the wrong area. Well in Oblivion it shows you where to go with red and green markers on your map. This is perfect for someone who is bad at traveling.
AI
Score 9.5 AI in this game level up with you. Lets say your level 3 well when you start out most of the things merchants or bandits have will be noobish, like leather armor. Well when you hit the 14s your enemies or merchants may get new equipment like Myth or Eleven. This is the only drawback, you can't get the regular nice stuff from people. But by doing quest you can get leveled loot. leveled loot is the stuff that are inside chests. At some forts when you hit the hight 20s you can get items that are worth 15000 gold. So items you get after beating certain quest will be leveled. I also gave the rating 9.5 because the AIs are kinda easy to kill once you hit the high 20s. Still, this removes the boredom from the game, because you know your enemies will be equal to you.
Overall Rating 9
This game is great and I think every should try it out first. You get a Knights of the Nine expansion, and nice leveled loot, and enemies that level up with you. The game is also friendly to you and you won't have to worry about getting lost while doing a quest ever again. For anyone new to the Elder Scrolls series, and likes RPGs you should buy this game. Believe me its worth it.
