"Arrrgh an enjoyable experience for Fans of the epic movie"

Well here we are with another epic Pirates of The Caribbean Movie risen from the horizon, and with it the mandatory multi-platform video-game. However unusually for a movie tie-in game POTC: At World's End hit's the right notes. While by no means an epic game it does its job - allows you to be the star of the movie.

Story: 6/10 The game basically covers the second two films (roughly). The main issue is the obvious discrepancies that make you think 'Wait wasn't he elsewhere?' Fortunately It at least gets the right order of things and it doesn't try to become a different story. The voice acting is clearly not the stars but on the whole they don't sound like a soprano when the should be a tenor. Coupled with voice acting kept to a minimal and more based on movement you can get lost in the fun of being a swashbuckler.

Graphics: 8/10 The graphics of the game are very good. The general ambience of each area and familiar location allow you to believe your there fighting alongside old friends. The cut scenes are where things shine especially some of the more animated sea battle levels.

Gameplay: 9/10 Simple, Fast Paced and above all fun. This game should have one purpose - to allow you to fight as a pirate. And it does this. Well. Most fighting is fought via switching between two buttons but it's the tactics that are the main task. Picking up projectiles and choosing your enemy wisely to take down the mob as fast as you can. Bar fights also play a part with melee fighting adding to the feel. Some enemies require a special finish but for the most it part its hack ‘n' slash. The levels consist of fighting and light puzzle solving. Every now and again you have to defend your allies which is frustrating but it soon passes. Bosses are fought via duelling screen which uses hitting the right direction at the right time to defend and whatever you want to attack. Once you get the hang of this these duels feel fluent and quite fun.

In the end it's a game for one purpose. Being a pirate and fighting in kind. Its not a pioneer game but it allows an enjoyable experience for fans of the movie. Lets face it, that's what movie games are for.
