"Awesome Weekend Pick'n'go"

Army of Two is the type of game most people out there are looking for. Fast Paced COOP Split screen Campaign with a obligation of teamplay. It's been a while since any games of cooperation have been made and finally, Electronic Arts came up with a decent solution.

STORY Rating 4/10

Game takes place through out several areas in a year 2000 setting. It's the story of 2 combat ready ex-military who face a world of terrorism and choose to sell their military services to take home "the cash". In other words, they are rocking the world as mercenaries. The story itself does not appeal very much as it's more of a slap-dash job than anything else. Unfortunately, the story might not be the cause of what will keep the player hooked on till the end.

GAMEPLAY Rating: 8/10

Now here's the climax part of this game. the game heavily focuses on Cooperation and I mean, if your friend decides to do what he wants, you guys will have a hard time getting through the game. The gameplay requires the players whether coop or single, to approach areas of the levels with a strategic mind. As much as you can easily duck yourself and blind fire towards the enemy and slowly approach, you can use the game's aggro system which lets use concentrate the enemy towards one player due to being more aggressive while your partner runs around silently and kills them from behind. The game is played with an over-the-shoulder third person view. The dual player split screen uses a horizontal split instead of vertical. Those of you who are looking for a cooperative challenge might find this game to be a good experience on easy difficulty but later on professional difficulty to be much much more difficult but exciting experience. The weaponry is very exciting at first but then later becomes a big disappointment. You have the ability to buy and customize your weapons using earned money from mission assignments. It all looks so cool when you can made a gold-plated M4A1 with a 40mm Grenade Launcher attachment however, the choice of weaponry is incredibly small... Some weapons I found to be ineffective compared to others, yet there is still some feeling of choice. What will definitely keep the player hooked is the action. We have seen some downfalls because of weaponry, and other things however, we peak on the action. This game features non-stop action levels. There is not one level where you will not be running for cover or not thinking of a strategy between you and your teammate as you play through. Not one level where you will tell yourself, eh, it wasn't the best or not much action... The game plunges you deep in action through each mission whether they take 20 mins to finish or 1 hour. You are constantly in action. As you go further and further in the game, the difficulty increases with the amount of enemies and weapons they use. *Coughs* SHOTGUNNER *COUGHS*... my bad.... Nothing beats running up to one of those guys and head bashing them because they killed you one too many times...

SOUND 5/10

This was unfortunate. Some good sounds but not exactly the impact maker here.
the samples used are good. EA made a good choice on the sounds to use for explosions, gunfire and effects yet unfortunately, I wonder if the mixer and editor was sleeping on the job... The game could have used a bit more different sounds for gunfire especially with the different weapon availability. They could also have used a much more powerful, more violent gunshot hammer impact. Through out the cut scenes, I don't know what the mixer thought about but I would say he wanted to lower the voice volumes by what half?! So I have to struggle reading the subtitles because I CAN'T HEAR THEM SPEAK!? *points the finger* We'll have to blame the mixman for that.... Other than this cut scene MAJOR problem, the rest of the sounds was great for this game.

GRAPHICS 9/10

I could give this a 10/10 but who knows if the companies have reached the climax of the PS3's Graphical output. Awesome graphics, I cannot elaborate more. Of course we will have different opinions based on whether you are playing using RCA cables or HDMI 720p (game only support 720p). I played this game on 720p and as much as I could say Call of Duty 4... This game is as awesome graphically as any other good graphical games on PS3...

REPLAY 3/10

Took me 6 hours and 30 mins to beat with a split screen coop friend on my first play through and I was taking my time to look at details and feel the game. The game is very short. Excellent for a sitting. The only replay there is for this game is the unlocking of Professional Difficulty (which is quite decent) and the customizing of all weapons to their max levels. Otherwise, this game is good for the shelves once dealt with. You'll maybe get the itch to play it again on long term occasions otherwise, *points* The Shelf Please.

This game delivered an AWESOME quantity of fun including an AWESOME quantity of anger to me and overall, this was a great game to play, I enjoyed it a lot but I'd take my time to when I'd like to play it next. I heavily recommend this game for a Weekend rent. Rent it for 2 day. Slam dunk it within a few hours, do it again on the harder difficulty the next day and then return it. That's it for this game.
