Heavenly Sword

"One of the best games ever"

Introduction

Heavenly Sword is a game where a female character (Nariko) goes on a mission to defeat King Bohan and rid her territory of his threat. Nariko goes around attacking enemies with the Heavenly Sword and keeping King Bohan from getting it.

Gameplay

The game is very fun to play and after I found out that the Aftertouch could be use with the directional buttons instead of the Six-Axis motion controller, it became even more fun. I found the game to be very difficult at times on Normal Mode but in general not too hard or too easy until I got up to the unmerciful bosses. Control was very good compared with other games. Combat system is similar to God of War, when Nariko has two swords and flailing them at her enemies, this is one of the most awesome combat techniques in gaming history!

Story

In Heavenly Sword, Nariko who was plagued with a curse because she was born a female, goes on to use the one sword that could help defeat King Bohan and his minions. At the beginning of the game, she helps hold her clan's fort down, then goes on and attempts to rescue her father. In the end, the final battle will be held at another fort, where she will work on weakening King Bohan's army.

Graphics/Sound

Game has excellent graphics and very good music.

Play Time/Replayability

It took me 30 hours to finish this game in normal mode, I am certainly amazed at people who were able to finish this in 4-6 hours. There is replayability, as I played the game in Hell Mode, and took me 24 hours to finish. The only thing not to look forward to are the bosses and so of the heavily equipped troops, but after learning techniques on how to beat them they will be out of your way and then you can go on to more fun and awesome cutscenes.

Final Recommendation

The game is worth buying, because you will miss it once you no longer have it. It is the kind of game you can play again every few months or year. If you want a game like God of War without the long and difficult Prince of Persia-like puzzles, then this game is for you. An awesome game where you have a female warrior doing the things that Kratos did in God of War, with fighting techniques and movement.
