MotorStorm

"Motorstorm Comes In Last"
When I first play the demo of Motorstorm- I was impressed. With it being the first PS3 game I had played, I loved it. After purchasing it however, I noticed the flaws...
Gameplay: 6/10
This game is fun to play, but gets old quickly. The controls are of the average racing game, so you shouldn't have too much difficulty with that. I did notice that the loading screens take long, and during the vehicle select screen, the frame rate drops considerably. After a few races, you should be getting either bored, because the game has no plot whatsoever, or you should be getting irritated of the difficulty. This game is pretty difficult, until you master it. When it's all said and done- this game plays nice. I haven't experienced any freezes. I would give the gameplay a 7 but it just gets really boring.
Graphics: 8/10
The graphics are what make Motorstorm stand out. The vehicles all look realistic and are well designed. The environments are fairly detailed and the far-off scenery actually looks real. Diverse track conditions are a great feature. The more you race on a track- the harder it gets, because of ruts that form, and debris. Since this was one of the first PS3 games out, I've got to say the graphics are pretty darn good.
Sound: 8/10
Motorstorm has a good soundtrack, featuring popular artists such as Slipknot, and many others. The vehicles all sound great and real. The crashes sound real as well. What else is their to say? Good sound...
Multiplayer: 2/10
This is where Motorstorm eats it. After installing multiplayer settings for literally 1 hour, I attempted to find a race. I couldn't find one. Every lobby was either completely full or empty. Once I did get into a lobby, I was forced to wait for ten minutes for a race to finish. I got into another lobby and waited for five minutes for the race to start. If you do make it into a race, be prepared to be kicked if you crash someone, do to the open-ended kicking system. And a big bonus to all of this is the lack of offline multiplayer. I can honestly say that this game is multiplayer hell.
Replayability: 3/10
Once you have beat the main "career" there is noting more for you to do, besides starting over again.
Final Word: Rent or Buy?
Motorstorm is definitely a RENT. And even if you didn't rent it, you wouldn't be missing out on much.
