Final Fantasy VII
Question from heavens__cloud
Asked on: 6/20 1:38AMI downloaded FF7 from the Playstation Store onto my PSP, and it doesn't recognise my save data... i checked the folder names and they match, so I'm completely at a loss as to why I have to start a new game everytime I want to play :(
Additional details - 6/22 1:50AM
X:\PSP\SAVEDATA for the save data
X:\PSP\GAME for the game
i copied the folder name from the game onto the savedata folder to make sure it was the same one, but it still didnt change anything :/

ok... no hacked PSP
when you connect the PSP to the computer, PSP\GAME will have a folder called SCES00867 in it.
i copied the name, SCES00867 to the folder with my save data in PSP\SAVEDATA and pasted it when i was renaming it.
i run the game from my PSP but sometimes it doesn't recognise that I've saved the game: what can i do about it?
for example: the first time i played it, i saved it before the first boss and turned it off, to get dinner done... after dinner, i looked in the saved data utility on the PSP and it said FINAL FANTASY VII, but when i ran the game, and chose Continue from the menu, there was no data in either memory card slot
Why?

statusWhat are you folders names. i can figure out where to put it
I would like to do the same thing. I did get it to where it would say that their is corrupt data but no saves for my psp or PS3. Can someone help?
I personally only know how to do it with a PS3, and that is super easy. All you have to do is go into your PS3's internal memory card that has your FF7 save data and choose to copy it to you PSP. It'll ask you if you want to convert it, so choose yes. It worked for me. If your doing it on a computer, sorry, I have no idea. You should get a PS3 if your in the latter category.
What do you mean "i copied the folder name from the game onto the savedata folder to make sure it was the same one, but it still didnt change anything"?
If you originally started the new game on your psp it should work automatically with no hassle or configuration. Try updating your psp maybe? Also, if you have a hacked psp, maybe that can screw it up?
If you are trying to copy the saves from a PS3, follow what Doublesouba posted before me because 'm pretty sure that the saves NEED to be converted before the PSP can recognize them. Also, when you are copying from a PS3, first assign the "memory card" on the PS3 a slot (you know, slot 1 or slot 2) and THEN try copy converting as previously mensioned.
Eeerrrr i think your problem is putting it in the game folder when u should be putting it i save data o.0
This sounds like a bad download, I would call Sony and see if they have any help they can offer you. If you call during the mornings/weekdays, there is a chance they will answer but otherwise you get the machine. This is where Redial-hangup-redial-etc. comes in. Really, the worst that happens is they will probably give you PSN credit so you can download it again or something.
Try to reinstall the game.
