I don't know whether I should save bullets and dodge him or fight him.
Mr. X drops ammo when you kill him. The ammo improves with each appearance. I only kill him the last couple of times he shows up. That's when the ammo is finally good enough to make it worthwhile.

statusFight him...Mr. X always drops a large amount of ammunition for your most powerful weapon you have, depending on when you fight him. If you are good at counting shots and keeping track of ammo, then you won't have any problems killing him and everything else that moves.
