I'm not entirely sure if it appears for the first time you play the game, I started to play it again after finishing the story and when I went to the orbus barrier, there's was an extra location called Nereid Labyrinth.

statusIt's a bonus dungeon that appears on your second play-through. It gives you some pretty good equipment and a decent challenge, so it's worth going through.
