It says in JungleJim's Ultimate Recepies FAQ that Ultimate Leather Hoplite armour and an Ultimate Wooden Hoplite shield are best for magical defence.. I'm not disbuting it, but as a Damascus Freak i'd like someone to confirm it for me, preferably with some stats as proof
Leather provides +5 INT, Wood provides +6. Damascus, on the other hand, is only +3 INT. So Leather/Wood are the best materials. Similarly, Hoplite has higher INT despite having lower STR. See Garrison's Armor FAQ for all the detailed numbers.
