International Track & Field
Review by theanswer36
"Oh, My fingers hurt so good!!"
Let me start off by saying that this game is one of most fun, addicting, and competitive games ever made. My friends and I have spent hundreds of hours mashing buttons as fast as we can to win the gold. This game has it all! Gameplay, Graphics, Sound, Replayability, and most of all it is just plain fun. On with the review.
Gameplay (10/10)- Most people probably think ''All you do mash buttons. That's it.'' While you do a lot of mashing there is also factors like timing, rythm, and the ability to not laugh when everyone is telling you ''It looks it the vein in your forehead is going to explode.'' Anyone can mash buttons but few can it with all of abilities mentioned above. All of the big events are here. Spriting, Swimming, Pole Vault, Hurdles, Shot put, Javelin, and High Jump to name a few. There is a total of eleven event in the game. This game really shines when you and three friends go head to head in full button mashing glory.
Story (N/A) - Track & Field is a sports games so it doesn't have a story.
Graphics (10/10) - This game is relatively old. It was released in 1995 or 1996 but don't let the date fool you. The graphics are top notch even by today's standards. The athlete models are large, colorful, and modeled very well. The colors in the game are bright and appropiate. On the downside there is alittle clipping here and there but not enough to be a problem. Final word the graphics are suberb.
Sound (10/10) - There is very little voice in the game only the stadium annoucer speaks which is done very well. All sound effects are appropiate from the gunts, cheers, and the splashing of the water in the pool. Again the sound is done extremely well.
Replay Value (10/10) - I wanted to put an infinity sign here. But, I can't find that key. You will play this game over and over and over and over again. Whether you are having a competition with friends or praticing for the big meet you will be playing this game until your fingers are bleeding.
Buy/Rent - This game is buy buy buy buy all the way. You probably won't find it new anymore. So, you have to buy it used. You may get lucky though and find it new at a very good price ($12.99). Buy this game you will not be sorry!
