ECW Hardcore Revolution
Review by Gameman89
"One of the best PSX wrestling games!!!!!"
Wow, a new wrestling group that really creates a game that stands out in the variety of wrestling games. I for one am getting pretty sick and tired of going into the video game section at the local Wal-Mart and seeing only WWF and WCW games. Don't let me lead you in the wrong direction. WWF and WCW games are pretty good but I have been playing them since I got my first Nintendo. I was ready for a change. When I walked into the video game section and saw this game I immediatly grabbed it. I did not waste my money on this game and I feel that you won't waste your money either.
Gameplay- ECW Hardcore Revolution has very good gameplay. It is the best of any wrestling game on the market today. You take on the role of your favorite ECW wrestler or try your hand at designing your own creation in the ultimate create-a-wrestler mode. There are lots of different modes and ways to change the match around so that it fits your individual style of play. There are three different difficulty settings so that anybody can play this game no matter wether you are a hardcore gamer or somebody who only plays games on the weekend for thirty minutes to an hour.
Story- Like most wrestling games there isn't much of a story because there isn't much that you can do but fight. The only thing that you would consider a story in this game is the career mode. You pick your favorite wrestler and take him or her through an entire season of wrestling. You raise your rank by winning. When you are at a high enough rank then you can try and when a title and you can praticipate in Pay-Per-View events when they are available.
Audio-Video- The commentary in this game is very vulgar if you put it on mature. There isn't any cussing if the language is set on everyone. The crowd noises could have been better but this is about the same as most of the other wrestling games on the market today. The graphics in the game are the best in any wrestling game on the Playstation. The detail that goes into the faces, clothing and blood is outstanding. You actually get to see the blood running down the peoples back. If the sound was a little better then this game would have been the an even better game.
Replayability- This game has the best replayability of any wrestling game. You can spend days creating wrestlers in the create-a-wrestler feature. It is fun to see how funny you can make the characters look. You can make hundreds of different combinations using the moves that are in the game. You can spend lots of time going through the career mode trying to get all of the secret characters that are scattered throughout the game. It takes a while to get all of the secrets that are in the game.
To Buy or Rent- Even though the sound in the game is not as good as it could be. I still think that this is the best wrestling game that I have ever bought, and believe me, I have a bought and played a lot of wrestling games for all different systems since I got my first wrestling game for the Nintendo when it came out. I would say to shell out the money and buy this game because even if you don't know anybody in the ECW you will still appreciate the attention to detail that was put into this game.
I gave it a 9 out of 10 stars because of the sound.
