ECW Hardcore Revolution
Review by WrestlingRPGfan
"It's WWF Attitude!!!!"
If you have WWF Attitude, you also have ECW Hardcore Revolution. It's the exact same engine once again!
Gtaphics
The graphics in ths game are much like Attitude's, except some subtle differences. The faces look a lot more real, which is nice. The graphics aren't nearly as choppy as previous Acclaim wrestling games were. The entrances look nice, too. The moves still look pretty bad, and the collision detection is still pretty bad. However, it is still better than Attitude's. So overall, no complaints in the graphics. Graphics: 8/10
Sound
Bleh. For starters, most of the entrance themes aren't there. The most likely reason for this is Acclaim didn't want to pay for the rights to have the music in, since all of the wrestler's themes are real songs. The commentary makes Attitude's commentary look like a masterpiece. They hardly say anything! And if they do, it's like ten seconds later. Acclaim really botched the sound. Sound: 4/10
Controls
Awful. It's like Attitude, but worse. In Attitude, at least the wrestlers had more than four moves. The moves are still pulled off the same way as Attitude. Most people will not like that. I know I didn't. Once again, Acclaim failed to deliver. Controls: 5/10
Replay Value
There is a surprising amount of replay value in this game. For starters, it takes a while to beat career mode. And, if you feel lucky, you can play the tag team career mode. The exhibition modes are pretty much the same as in Attitude's. Plus, there is the multiplayer modes, which are also entertaining. Replay Value: 8/10
Overall
Dedicated ECW fans will have a ball with this game simply because it's the only ECW game out there. It is also a good buy because of the replay value. However, due to the horrible controls and sound, I suggest you rent first, unless you are a die-hard ECW fan. Overall: 6/10
