Review by Death Hunter

"I bought this game before I even owned my PSX!"

Gee-wiz do I love this game! I first played it as a demo at my local FuncoLand, and I knew immeaditly I had to buy it, even though I dind't have a PSX! I boutght it, and one month later, I got my Playstation to play it on, and I'll tell you what, it's the best damn wrestling game for the PSX!

GRAPHICS: 10/10

The graphics on this game are supererb! All of the wrestlers life like, almost a carbon clone to their Real Life Counter-Parts, the Titon Tron videos are AWESOME, and the backstage is just to cool!
All of the moves look great, especially the Stone Cold Stunner, and the entrances are the coolest I've ever seen.

SOUND: 9/10
Again, the sound is just ''tooo sweeeet!'' The music sounds exactly like the real stuff, the groans and moans of wrestlers are great, and the ''bumps'' and ''cracks'' of moves sound sweet too! The only reason this isn't a 10/10 is beacause the background music to when you're wrestilng isn't that great... :(

GAMEPLAY: 10/10
The best part of the game, hands down! I absolutley love the system, I picked it up after 2:00 minutes into my first ever match on the demo! Very simple, all you do is hit a direction (such as left) and either O or X and you've pulled off a move! (Well, the X's are striking moves, but whatever!) Of course, there's much more than that, but you can read the manual. When you are actually in a match the action is fast, firece and unforgiving! One moment you could be pulling off the People's Elbow, the next, you could be Tombstoned onto a chair! Really! That's what makes this game great! Plus the season mode is execellent, you can even chose to attack people backstage, which tires them down for the next match, almost garenteeing them a loss! But watch out, or you may be attacked your self.
The Create-A-Superstar isn't that great for making your wrestler apperance wise, but when it comes down to the moves, it's great! Depending on how many skill points you have towards a certain style determines what moves you get. For instance, let's say you wanted the Stone Cold Stunner as your finisher. You'd need to have a Level 5 power ability to have that move! Speaking of finishers, you can name your own finishers! You could name the Stone Cold Stunner the ''Crusher'' or the ''Neck Buster'', and when you play the game and use that move, it will be called whatever you named it.

There's so much more stuff in Smackdown!, but I don't have the hour or so it would take to type it all down! Basicly, if you have a PSX and are even the tinest smidgen of a fan of wrestling or wrestling video games, buy this game NOW!

''And that's the bottem line, cuz Stone Cold said so!''
