Galerians
Review by wolverinefan
"Nicely done sci-fi horror game"
Story
Rion wakes up in a lab and he has no memory of his past. He soon finds out that he has psychic powers that allow him to make people catch on fire. He sets out to find out about his past. The story is really interesting and much better than most survival horror story lines. I give story a 9/10
Control
The control is very simple and it's also really responsive so I had no problems at all with the control. I give control a 10/10
Voice Acting, Sound Effects and Music
Now this is what I've been waiting for. Best voice acting I've heard in any game. The voices match the characters and convey emotions well. The sound effects are decent, nothing special. The music is hollow and feels really natural to the game. I give voice acting, sound effects and music a 9/10
Game play
Imagine Resident Evil minus the zombies and guns but with psychic powers. The rooms in the game are all fixed like in the Resident Evil series. Enemies are rather ruthless but they only attack if they see you. The puzzles are your normal kinda, keys, fuses and what-not. The main focus here is your psychic powers. You fight using these powers but you only have so much energy so you need to use it only when needed. You also have an anger meter, the more you get hit the madder Rion gets and if the meter is full and you try to use your Psychic powers you overload killing everything around you but this also drains your life. You can also use your power to solve puzzles by using it on doors and stuff to see where the key or card might be. This makes the player look around the area they are in and just search as if you were really in the game. I give game play a 9/10
Replay Value
The back of the case says the game is over 50 hours long and has 70 minutes of cut scenes. I believe the cut-scene thing but 50 hours is really pushing it out there. The game is rather short mainly because it plays rather start-forward but there is a special mode unlocked after beating the game which ups the replay value a little bit but doesn't add enough to make it 50 hours long. I give replay value a 2/10
Final Score
I give Galerians a 9/10
