"Another crappy racing game..."

As most of you gamers know, the racing game population is far too high as new racing games seem to come out like every other week. Motor Toon Grand Prix is just another below average racer in my opinion.

Gameplay=> It starts out with this wierd intro that talks about the game but you can't hear the announcer very well at all. The version I have, the sound cuts out and sometimes it skips animations, but I am not sure if this is the game or if my cd is just scratched. The game is definitely aimed at children i think, with its ''cute'' little backgrounds at the title screen and the cartoony characters and cars. Like most racing games, Motor Toon Grand Prix has Championship mode, single race mode, and time trial mode. There are only like five cars, although you can win a few bonus cars when you beat the championship mode. In the races, a major drawback is the announcer guy that screams out the power-ups you get in this really annoying voice. I must admit, the tracks aren't bad however. Nicely done backgrounds and the tracks have ramps and things made out of objects from the background and the levels design. Just about average gameplay.

Story=> I really don't know too much about the story. I think there are different stories behind each character but, I didn't get the user manual when I got the game.

Audio/Video=> As I stated before, sometimes the sound cuts out and there is this really annoying announcer guy screaming at you. The race music is pretty cartoony and not that great. It kind of sounds like an old Mickey Mouse cartoon. A few car sounds and some sounds for the upgrades and items. Really nothing special. The graphics are cartoony as I stated before. The backgrounds aren't bad in this game but they can't save the game overall. And the wierd backgrounds are just kind of stupid.

Replayability=> It's just a little below average racing game. Doesn't make you want to play or try to get any of the secrets, just kind of gets annoying after a few races. No real replayability.

Overall=> Overall the game is not very fun and the only good point, the backgrounds, can't help the gameplay. The game gets a four... I wouldn't recommend buying it, but I think younger kids might like it a little more than teenage gamers.
