Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2

"The best non-RPG ever!"

After almost 2 weeks of playing THPS2 I have finally stopped playing it (temporarily) to write a review for it.

Story- Just like the 1st, there is no story. Real skaters skating in many places.

Sound/Graphics- 10/10 The sounds are some of the best on a playstation. This is the best music soundtrack ever! It has Rage Against The Machine- Guerrila Radio, Papa Roach- Blood Brothers, Naughty By Nature- Pin The Tail on The Donkey, Powerman 5000- When Worlds Collide, Dub Pistols- Cyclone. The songs are edited but it's only music video edits. It actually does have the whole song this time and if you free skate for a while it will change songs. The sounds sound very realistic like the first, but only better.

Controls- 10 The controls are basically the same as the first with the addition of manuals. So now you can have extremely long combos linked together by manuals. Now R2 and L2 are used for switching your riding position while on the ground. Remember in the first Tony Hawk when you could do everything perfectly while switched? Eliminate that thought. Now you aren't as good switched, but you get more points for doing tricks while switched. So if you want to be perfect while switched you better max out your persons switch ability.

Challenge Level- This game is pretty challenging now. Now instead of just 5 career mode objectives, you have 10 so now it is almost impossible to get them all. Also now there are SICK scores you must beat which is 75,000 in the first level.

Replay Value- 10 This game has it all. You can create your own skater and your own skate park so the replay value is virtually unlimited. Activision also has added 2 more multiplayer modes, Tag and Free Skate. Also there are 3 more people and 4 hidden characters including one very famous superhero...

Overall- If you have the chance to buy this game do it. It will keep you occupied for so long it's unbelievable. Just make sure you have a memory card so you can save it.
