"The 2 stands for 2nd place"

Tomb Raider 2 is the second adventure of Lara Croft. This time she is after the Dagger of Xian (another ancient artifact that has lots of power). While being a good sequal, Tomb Raider 2 fails to do much of what Tomb Raider 1 did so well:

Sound- 8/10

The sound has much improved over the first episode. The sound effects are no different, but the music is better. Their are more songs and they don't play suspenseful music just anywhere. In the first episode they would play a scary song if you were being attacked by a bat.

Graphics- 8/10

Like the sound, the graphics have improved greatly. In just one year Eidos was able to improve the blocky, scratchy graphics by smoothing them over. This makes the whole appearance of the game look better.

Story- 9/10

Just like the first, Lara is after an ancient artifact that has amazing power to stop from letting this orginazaton get it. Now, let me tell you something about this orginazation. It is very strange. I can't relly tell you why, but I can tell you it has something to do with dragons and voodo.

Gameplay- 7/10

Why so low? The big reason is the level design and the boring puzzles. The levels are all repetitive and you turn the corridor and again and again. It does have some nice new features like the grenade launcher, M16, flares, a speedboat, a snowmobile, and more. Lara can also clinb ladders.

Replay Value

Very low. For tips on what to do with the disk, see my review on the first game.

To Buy or Not to Buy???

If you like Lara Croft or just couldn't gat enough of the first game then buy it. Whats that?? You don't have the first one?! Well buy that!
