"I nearly managed to repress this terrible memory"

The Rugrats were an extremely popular cartoon when I was growing up, lasting for well over a decade while many other, far superior nicktoons were cancelled. The show was popular enough to spawn several movies, and these in turn spawned games. Well actually I believe that game is a little bit too generous of a word. Device of mental torture seems more fitting. I actually forgot that I had played this game until I just so happened to see it mentioned in an old magazine. Then the horrible memories came flooding back to me.

PLOT-3/10:The game follows the adventures of a group of babies. Tommy Pickles' father has been sent to Europe in order to fix a broken robot at Euroreptarland (a lame Disneyland rip off from what I see) and has decided to bring the group of Rugrats with him. Not much more to be said really. It's not as if the plot is all that important really.

SOUND-3/10:The voice acting is spot-on admittedly. If I remember correctly (it's been a long time since I played the game) everybody sounded exactly as they did on the show. Unfortunately the voices are very hard to understand, and the sound effects are abysmal, to say the least. The giant reptar doesn't sound intimidating in the slightest, and the music gets annoying very fast.

GRAPHICS-7/10: The graphics in this game are actually pretty good. Everything looks like what you expect it to look like, everything is very colourful, and the frame rate is decent, at least indoors. Outside in the main park, it struggles a bit, but it really isn't a big deal. Maybe the fact that there are no other people in the park (which seems pretty weird in my opinion) help add to the detail.

GAMEPLAY-2/10:This is were this "game" fails most of all. To put it bluntly, it's horrible. You play as the various different rugrats playing through tedious mini games such as mini golf, limbo, and bumper cars, in order to win enough tickets to buy a special helmet that allows the wearer to control the giant reptar. It's simply too easy though and the game can be completed in less than hour. In a way that is actually a good thing though because you probably won't want to play for long.

FINAL RECOMMENDATION:Just avoid it like the plague. It has virtually no redeeming features what so ever from what I've seen.
