Lunar: Silver Star Story Complete
Review by Faboluz
"Great Classic Game !!"
Lunar Silver Star Story Complete is a remake of classic games that comes from Sega-Saturn first, then it comes to the Playstation with several enhancement and additions, The first opinion about this game is most likely a traditional RPG.
Gameplay- This is a standard RPG, where you will go to town-exploring areas-fighting enemies-and finally boss repetitively, and for the enemy battle systems I think it' will look a like Final Fantasy, but it's totally different, this battle systems using a range-system to attack enemies, where your melee character will move to the destination and keep attacking enemies. This is sound great for the developer ! But, the major disadvantage of the gameplay systems is the enemies are pretty easy to beat by memorizing your previous strategies, and the boss battle itself also the same, just a enhancement of normal enemies with a lot of HP. for the skill system is very limited so, the limited choice comes limited strategies too. Even, you'll have to fight almost every boss with a same strategies at once.
Rating : 7/10
Story- This is a "diamond" of this game, although it's a typical storyline like : facing the one who will conquer the world and save the one you love. the romance, mystery, comedy, sadness, and exciting adventures really flew me up. The story is also easy to digest. And the characters emotion is explained clearly.
Rating : 10/10
Graphic- Graphic? This game have bad graphic! Sure, the graphic is a rigid chibi style character. and I think this is not a playstation graphic game, more likely for 16-bit generation game like SNES, SEGA, or anything. In my opinion, The Graphic for normal gameplay is main weakness in this game, but for the FMV cutscene, the graphic looks nice and quite neat, like real anime movies.
Graphic : 5/10
Sound- Interesting, The composers of this game work nicely to create a song, there's so many song that express bravery, spirits, fear, and hope. And voice acting for FMV is good but sometimes I can't hear it out loud(maybe because for my bad-listening skill).
In overall, sound looks nice.
Sound : 8/10
Replayability- This game didn't have a good replayability value, because there's no New Game+ or something. after you beat the final boss, you're end. So, maybe you will have to replay it if you're in nostalgia with this game..
Game Play- The game play is maybe for 20-30 hours, like many classic games.
Reccomendation- If you like the classic game with a rich heroic stories, this is a choice for you.
Overall Rating- 8/10, this game is near perfect, but for the graphic isn't really good for Playstation, but the gameplay systems is very unique, the sound also looks cool. And the Story, this is one of the best stories in RPG.
