"A good game that got great..."

SUMMARY:
If you own the original Smackdown, you know what to expect from Smackdown 2. It is basically the same exact game but with some extra features. These extra features are great enough to make this game a worthy purchase. However, this game is VERY fast paced. So if you like slower, more realistic wrestling games, then consider getting WWF No Mercy for 64 instead.

SEASON MODE:
This is the main feature of the game and it is done very well, but NOT perfect. In fact, the long load times before and after cutscenes may aggrivate and bore people. But they can be overlooked when viewing the excellent storylines and gameplay.
This time, the movies actually MEAN something unlike the first game. If they show Edge and Christian talking, they will most likely be involved in screwing up a match or something. And the movies are high quality also, which is good. And as you progress though season mode you will see many other cool scenes like Stone Cold ramming a forklift into Vince McMahon's car.
Overall, there are plenty of things to unlock in this mode. And it will keep you busy for a LONG time.

GRAPHICS:
Pretty much identical to last year. The wrestlers are GREATLY detailed and look fantastic. The resolution is a little fuzzy but it is not noticed. And the MANY new backstage areas look great and have plenty of objects to use.
The moves look excellent when being performed and the wrestlers will roll in agony after being hit with a large move.
The entrances are also done the same way as the last game which is kinda dissapointing but not that bad.

SOUND:
The wrestlers each have there theme music (except the Undertaker doesnt come out with his Kid Rock music for some reason), and the music sounds great and has good quality.
I remember websites saying this game would have voice overs, but it hardly doesnt. So far ive heard about 3 voice samples. And there is no commentary either, so that kinda sucks.

CREATE-A-WRESTLER:
This mode is GREATLY inproved and can be compared to WWF Attitude. You can select your characters nose, eyes, and just about anything.
Plus, when choosing moves, you can actually see a preview of them. This is very cool since its a PSX game and the system isnt that powerful.

MODES:
There are many cool modes like Hell in a Cell, Table matches, ladder matches, casket matches, TLC matches, and more that I cant think of. But all of these maches are done greatly and are extreme fun to play. THQ did a great job making this game.
